CHILD Welfare SA - KwaDukuza held their annual general meeting recently.

The successful meeting was graced by J.P. Cloete, the national executive director for Child Welfare South Africa as the guest speaker.

Prior to the AGM, Cloete and the regional director for Child Welfare SA, Saras Desai visited some of the society’s community projects with president Sandeep Oudhram and community worker Bongani Ndlovu.
Some of the projects visited were the Groutville care homes, a community garden, a poultry farm, the welfare safe house and the Circle Preschool and creche. Mr Cloete was very impressed with the work done by the Society.
He commended the staff for their hard work. In his address at the AGM, Cloete acknowledged the excellent work done by the Society and highlighted his visit to the community projects. He also discussed his vision for Child Welfare South Africa.

The regional director Saras Desai also commended the staff for their hard work and dedication.
She served as the electoral officer at the AGM. The thanked the board members for their services to the Society in the past year. 20 Board members were elected.
The following members were elected: Sandeep Oudhram, M. Naidu, Pravin Sham, P. Govender, Chin Suriah, K.P. Hira, J. Naidu, B. Ganie, T. Govender, K. Mundry, G.V. Naidoo, X. Nxumalo, S. Funeka, V. Pillay, L. Perumal, S. Maharaj, M .Goolam, V. Maharaj, S. Nair and K. Gokar.
