Criminals force daughter to tie mother up

2015-06-03 06:01

A DAUGHTER was forced to tie her mother up with a cable tie as two suspects ransacked their home and made off with valuables and their Toyota Prado last Wednesday.

According to KwaDukuza SAPS media liaison office Warrant Officer Johannes Khoza the vehicle was recovered later that day near Manguzi and police believe the suspects were headed for the Mozambican border.

“The suspects entered the house during the day, held the complainant and her mother at gun point and then instructed the complainant to restrain her mother with a cable tie.

“The suspects then asked for keys to the safe, money and cellphones and locked the complainant and her mother in a wardrobe. “After managing to untie herself the complainant contacted the KwaDukuza SAPS to report the incident.”

The suspects are still at large. Khoza appealed to anyone who might have information that could lead to an arrest to contact the KwaDukuza SAPS on 032 551 8200.

In a separate incident, a man was stabbed on the left side of his chest and died on the way to the Stanger Hospital.

According to police records the dead man’s friends said he had been drinking with his friend at the Drifter Tavern in Darnall when an argument between the two ensued. The friend then stabbed the deceased. The suspect was arrested and is yet to appear in court.

Khoza urged taverns to comply with the Liquor Act. “Taverns need to comply with the time regulations which are 10am to 12am.” He urged the public report matters at the KwaDukuza SAPS as he said the station has an open door policy
