A SALT Rock man emerged a hero after saving two dogs from a burning home. The Kwadukuza Fire Department and IPSS Medical Rescue responded to a house fire on Dunkirk Road on Sunday afternoon where two dogs were locked inside.

Quick-thinking resident Micheal Fann, who saw smoke coming from the house when he was walking down the road, managed to save the dogs before the fire spread. According to IPSS paramedic Paul Herbst, the blaze started in the kitchen. “Quick response time from the fire department kept the damage restricted to the kitchen. “Two dogs were locked inside the home at the time of the fire, and were rescued by Fann. “Neither of the dogs were injured in the fire.”

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation
