KDVA to host women’s volleyball tourney

KWADUKUZA Volleyball Association (KDVA) will host an open tournament for women on Friday, 29 May at the association courts commencing at 6pm.

Participation in the tournament is free and medals will be awarded to all participants. Matches will be played in two pools on a league basis with the winner in each pool advancing to the final.

All pool matches will be contested on the basis of best of three sets (capped at 15 points). In the final the first two sets will be contested over 25 capped points and the third and decisive set will be 15 uncapped points.

President of KDVA, Isaac Abraham appealed to the women in KwaDukuza to come in their numbers to participate in the tournament.

Meanwhile, KDVA will host a council meeting on Wednesday, 27 May at The Quartz Conference Centre in Stanger Manor at 7pm. High on the agenda will be the draws for the Ralph Reuben memorial knockout tournament which is scheduled to get underway on 4 June.

UKZN Volleyball Club will host a volleyball tournament for men and women on Saturday, 23 May at the UDW Sports Complex commencing at 8.30am.

The entry fee is R400 per team. However, should a club affiliate two teams in the tournament, the entry fee for the second team will be R100.

UKZN Volleyball Club will also host a tournament for social league teams. The entry fee is R200 per team. For details regarding the tournament contact Roshnee Naicker on 031 260 7371
