AN inter-faith prayer service was held at Shakashead Sports field on Saturday.

Various religious ministers were invited to pray for peace and road safety going into the festive season.

The KwaDukuza Municipality felt that there was a need to “heal the soil” where the blood of those who died in a gruesome road accident involving a mini-bus and a train in Shakashead on 17 August.

A total of 16 people were killed in that crash.

The prayer brought municipal leaders, workers and members of the public closer together in an effort to heal the wounds of the bereaved families.
