Protest the power hike

2015-06-24 06:00

THIS is an appeal to all citizens to participate in a bid to stop Eskom’s proposed 25% increase.

We have load shedding and continuous power outages. Now Eskom wants us to pay more for electricity. We cannot afford to pay. Our pockets are empty.

If the price of electricity goes up, the price of everything will go up. The decision to allow Eskom to increase electricity prices will be made on June 29. We can stop it if everybody goes to the streets and protests against it.

Join us on the street to stop Eskom’s 25,3% increase, on June 23 at the Pietermaritzburg Market Square between 9 am and 11 am.

We will not survive these increases. Electricity affects every body. Join us in the biggest protest Pietermaritzburg has seen. Let’s get 20 000 people on the street.
