THE Saints Church which is located walking distance from our town of KwaDukuza has embarked on a centre to reach out to the community.

To date we have completed a 450 square metre building with the voluntary partners that have contributed towards this project thus far.

THIS CENTRE WILL INCLUDE:

Youth centre

Currently, our town does not have any suitable places where young people can gather and at the same time be groomed and mentored.

Our centre will be freely accessible to the youth of KwaDukuza with attractions such as a big-screen TV and activities such as pool tables, etc. During our Friday evening gatherings there will be special meetings for the youth.

Counselling centre

The suicide rate in our town has escalated. During the day there will be trained full-time counsellors who will assist these suicidal cases. Apart from suicidal cases, free marital and family counselling will also be offered.

Restaurant and coffee shop

This concept will be twofold, during lunch breaks, workers have no place to unwind or have their meals. We want to form a lunch-time club where workers can come with their own lunch and relax at the coffee shop and be encouraged. Meals will also be sold, creating opportunities for the unemployed with cooking skills. This concept will help the unemployed to earn an income.

Learning centre for underprivileged children

Pupils can come after school and do their homework and study. Teachers will be present to assist these children, at no cost. We will also provide free internet facilities for the teachers.

Saints Church will also be opening a parkade for those who intend to park their cars. The parking is on the church premises, 174 Hulett Street, Stanger - opposite RA Moodley Old Aged Home.
