“LET the different faiths exist and let the glory of God be sung in all languages and tunes that should be the ideal. Respect the differences between the faiths and recognise them as valid as long as they do not extinguish the flames of unity. If each person lives the ideals propounded by the founders of their religion, unaffected by greed or hate, then the world will be a happy and peaceful habitation for mankind”.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba took human form on 23 November 1926, in the remote village of Puttaparthi, in Southern India. From an early age, he demonstrated extraordinary, super human powers and displayed profound wisdom regarding spiritual matters. At age 14, he firmly declared that he had taken birth for the express purpose of leading mankind back onto the path of truth, righteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence. Sai devotees throughout the world will be celebrating the 91st advent of Sathya Sai Baba on Wednesday, 23 November 2016.

Sathya Sai Baba taught that man’s basic nature is divine and that the purpose of life is the realisation of that divinity. This, he said will occur through leading a moral life, rendering selfless service to those in need and developing love and respect for all life. He re-emphasised the core principles that formed the foundation of all the world’s religions, being, truth, love, right conduct, peace and non-violence.

He encouraged devotees to practice these human values in their daily lives and set an inspiring example by the way he led his own life.

Sathya Sai Baba stressed that he is not seeking to establish a new religion or to direct people towards a particular religion. He encouraged those attracted to his message to “continue worshipping along lines already familiar to you”. The Sathya Sai Organisation is a spiritual one; it recognises the fundamental unity of all the religions. It has centres in over 137 countries.

Satsang is conducted every Thursday from 7pm to 8pm at Sai Shruthi; 18 Berthwell Drive, HighRidge (entrance from Solly Street).

The Sri Sathya Sai Centre of KwaDukuza lovingly invites all to the 91st Birthday celebration of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 23 November 2016 at the Stanger Siva Sungam Hall, commencing at 6pm.

The programme will include devotional songs, a play entitled “Religions are Many, God is One”, as well as an inspirational speaker. Supper will also be provided. - Supplied.
