STANGER Secondary School staff members were held at gunpoint during an armed robbery that took place at the school during the Grade 8 registration on September 1.

At approximately 12.20 pm, three armed men posing as parents held up the finance officer and stole an undisclosed sum of money.

One staff member was injured and the rest of the staff were left traumatised.

No other injuries were reported.

According to KwaDukuza SAPS cluster spokesperson Sbusiso Khuzwayo, the three men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after holding the schools finance officer at gunpoint.

“The suspects then fled in a getaway car which was a gold VW Polo.

“Unfortunately, no one could identify the licence plate as they were still too traumatised,” said Khuzwayo. He added that a case of armed robbery has been open at the KwaDukuza SAPS and no arrests have been made as the police are still investigation the matter.
