STANGER and Tugela Mill employees went Bandana Crazy on Bandana Day.

Employees purchased bandanas in support of the Sunflower Fund.

The Sunflower fund is a non-profit Company in South Africa dedicated to creating awareness, educating the public and handling the registration process for people to join the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).

By increasing the number of donors listed on the national database, this offers hope to children and adults diagnosed with leukaemia and other life threatening blood disorders.

A higher awareness of the SABMR could increase the database and so doing increase the chances of patients finding matching bone marrow stem cell donors in order to undergo life-saving bone marrow stem cell transplants.

“Many of our employees have been affected by Cancer through family members, colleagues or friends and they feel that this is one way they can give back into the community,” said Verster Brent, senior communication practitioner.
