Church fete to be held in KwaDukuza

2018-12-05 06:01

THE Methodist churches have a rich history in the iLembe District.

Many of the 15 churches have been established for many years, and a few news ones have been established more recently.

Trinity Methodist Church, Stanger celebrated its centenary in 2016 and has offered hope and peace to those who have entered through its doors.

These 15 churches are collectively serviced by four ministers; Rev Michael Bishop, Rev Vusi Radebe, Rev Kym Bishop, and Rev Michael Vorster.

The church’s desire is to serve the wider community and members in a way that reflects the “deep-seated God values of love, justice, service and peace”.

The Methodist church invites you and your family to be part of this through their church fete, being held on December 1 from 7am to 3pm at Trinity Methodist Church, 115 Hullett Street, Stanger CBD.

On offer will be food stalls with boerewors rolls; biryani; a tea garden; cakes; kiddies entertainment including face painting, a jumping castle, and fishing for prizes; bric and brac; books; CDs; pre-used good clothes; linen; curtaining; waste material; second hand working household equipment and appliances, etc.

Plants and crafts will also be on sale and there will be a photo booth for individual and family photos.

The funds collected will help support the ministry and mission which covers part of the KZN North Coast through the 15 local churches in Tongaat, Westbrook, Ballito (Umhlali), Groutville (Mandelu), KwaDukuza (Gledhow, Stanger, Shakaville), Darnall, Dabangu, Mthandeni, Madundube, Mvozana, uThukela, Silevana, and Maphumulo.

These churches collectively attract around 3 000 worshippers each Sunday and offer numerous community outreach projects which collectively reach hundreds in the iLembe District.

A percentage of the funds also goes to support the work of MCSA, which serves six countries; Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, eSwatini (Swaziland), and South Africa.

For more information about the churches contact the circuit office, based in Umhlali, at 032 947 0173.

The office is open weekday mornings.
