THE Quartz Sportsbar drew large crowds to witness the Trophy
Engravers League title race.

Singh’s Darts Club started the team game on a high note to lead 1-0 in the first set.

Darn’s Auto Darts Club team Charlie Pillay, Justin Naidoo, Navern Coopsamy, Jodie Naidoo and Vasa Rungasamy came back fighting to win the second set to level the scores 1-1.

The third set was a rapture as Darn’s Auto boys put up a top performance and claimed the third set to lead 2-1.

In the doubles event Meersingh
Soobram and Ajen Singh came back fighting to win the first set to take the scores to 2-2.

The second set saw veteran Paddy Padayachee and Sanjay Singh beat
Pillay and Rungasamy to take the scoreline to 3-2 in favour of Singh’s Darts Club.

With four single matches to go this was a do or die clash for points.

In the opening game Soobram took on Justin Naidoo, it was Naidoo who left Singh flat-footed and won the game to level the scores once more 3-3.

In the second set Coopsamy of Darn’s Auto extended the lead to 4-3 after beating Ajen Singh.

The third set saw Sanjay Singh beat Pillay to even the scores to 4-4 .

In the final set Padayachee and
Rungasamy challenged each other to bring victory to their teams.

In the end Rungasamy out played
Padayachee and snatched victory to give Darn’s Auto Boys a big smile to win 5-4 on the night.

In the other game, Darnall United took on Quartz Darts Club.

Quartz Darts Club drew first blood in opening team game to lead 1-0.

The “sugar boys” regrouped and fought back to win the next two games to lead 2-1.

The Darnall team Vinesh Geanbally, Jerry Govender, Nine Pillay and Jerry Arunachellum were well settled and once again won the two doubles game to extend the score to 4-2 to the Darnall team. With four singles games to go,
Darnall lads Geanbally, Govender and Pillay won three games to take the scores to 7-1.

Rowen Pillay from Quartz Darts Club beat Arunachellum in the final game to take the scores to 7-2 on the night in favour to Darnall United. Tonight’s game Darnall United vs Singh’s Darts Club and Darn’s Auto Service Darts Club vs Red Gold KZN Darts Club while Quartz Darts Club will be on duty.
