DAWNHEIGHTS Cricket Club are riding the crest of wave after notching up their fourth successive victory in the KwaZulu-Natal Challenge League since the start of the new year.

On Sunday they snatched a thrilling 36 runs victory against East Coast at the Phoenix Ground. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first.

Dawnheights posted 210/10 in their allotted 50-overs. Adesh Bageloo (42) and Arun Kumar (36) top scored for Dawnheights. Chasing 211 runs for victory the hosts were bundled out for 174 runs in the 49th over.

Man-of-the-match Kumar was the destroyer-in-chief for Dawnheights claiming 4/32 from 10 overs.

Meanwhile, on Saturday the youthful Dawnheights B outfit proved too strong for Morningside B after romping to an emphatic 63-runs victory in an Ilembe Cricket Union Twenty-20 League game played at the Country Club Ground.

After winning the toss Dawnheights chose to bat and posted a mammoth 163/6 in their allotted 20-overs. Suveer Maharaj (35) and Wasim Suleman (20) top scored for Dawnheights. N. Lochan was the pick of the Morningside bowlers claiming 3/32 from 4 overs.

Chasing 164 runs for victory (at a rate of 8,2 runs per over) Morningside was bundled out for a paltry 100 runs in the 19th over with Don Naidoo (21) the only batsman to offer any resistance. Suleman claimed the man-of-the-match award after claiming 4/12 from 3 overs.
