Donate old uniforms

2017-01-11 06:01

LIMITED job opportunities and retrenchments have resulted in high unemployment rates and as a result many parents cannot meet the educational needs of their children.
In addition, the cancellation of grants and the lack of supportive resources also contribute to parent’s inability to provide their children with their most basic need - education.

Child support grants cater for children up to the age of 18.

According to the new Children’s Act, children can attend school up to the age of 21 years.

Many widows and single parents with children over the age of 18 years have no source of income and are unable to meet their children’s educational needs.

In an effort to help ease the burden on these parents and caregivers, Child Welfare SA: KwaDukuza asks the community to donate old school uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery for destitute children.

Your donations will contribute greatly to a child’s education and give them hope for a secure future.

Your contributions can be dropped off at the society offices on the corner of Cato and Jacaranda streets.

For more information contact the society on 032 551 2129.
