ILEMBE Cricket Club played a double header in the T20 KZN Cup against Simplex and Phoenix respectively this weekend.

On Sunday morning Ilembe took on Simplex of Reservoir Hills at Siripat Cricket Ground.

Simplex won the toss and elected to bowl in cool conditions.

Ilembe batsmen posted a competitive total of 131/8 in 20 overs.

The stand out batsmen were I. Mohamed 61, C. Shange 23 and Y. Ismail 23 while the best bowlers for Simplex were W. Naidoo 3/27 in 4 overs and E. Pillai 2/24 in 4.

Simplex began their chase needing a run rate of 6.6 to the over, but fell 15 runs short as Ilembe bowlers manage to contain and defend their total.
Best batsmen for Simplex were Darshan Naidu 26, Divashan Naidu 26 and R. Maharaj 12.
Top bowlers for Ilembe were C. Shange with 3/14 4 overs and B Ismail with 2/18 4 overs.

Ilembe edged Simplex by 15 runs.

In the afternoon, Ilembe faced off with Phoenix at Rainham Cricket Ground.

Phoenix won the toss and elected to field.

Ilembe batsmen managed posted a decent score of 151/7 after 20 overs.

A. Sarwar top scored with 49 which included four 6's, four 4's.

He had good support from C. Shange who scored 32. The top bowler for Phoenix was W. Naidoo with 4/38 from 4.

In reply, Phoenix could not get off the starting blocks, only managing a paltry 50/10 from 15.2 overs.

The main destroyer was I. Mohamed who claimed an impressive 6/9 in 4, with A. Sarwar the men of the match.

Ilembe won emphatically by 101 runs.
