AN elderly woman believed to be the mother of late KwaDukuza councillor, Bonga Zwane, was stabbed to death in Ntshawini allegedly by a 51-year-old suspect.

The suspect, Buyisile Nyendenyende Masaka appeared in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 26 January.

KwaDukuza SAPS spokesperson, warrant officer Johannes Khoza said the motive for the killing is not known at this stage and the SAPS are investigating the matter.

He said the incident occurred on Sunday, 24 January, at around 6:30pm.

In a separate incident, the KwaDukuza SAPS found a decomposed body in a sugarcane plantation in the Thembeni area last Thursday.

Khoza said DNA tests would help to identify the remains.

He said the tests would also help to determine whether the private parts found in Groutville, near Groutville High School, several weeks ago belong to the decomposed body.
