THREE family members, including an eight-year-old, were found dead on Friday, 19 August in the Mzunga area.

The slain family members, Thandokwakhe Bhengu (35), Lindelani Bhengu (16) and Lungisani Bhengu (8), were found by the Ndwedwe SAPS at around 10pm after the police received a report about the killing.

KZN SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said Thandokwakhe, the mother of the other two victims, and Lindelani were shot dead while Lungisani had been hanged on a pole.

“Three counts of murder were opened at Ndwedwe Police station for further investigations. The motive for this gruesome tragedy is still unknown,” Zwane said.

He said the police are appealing to the members of the community to come forward with any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

“We are appealing to anyone who might have information on suspects to contact the local police or our Crime Stop number on 08600 10111,” Zwane said.
