“ I ducked for cover and when I looked up again the lady was lying on the road bleeding and the guys sped off in her car. I was afraid for my life so I stayed down. I have never seen such a thing in my life, I am in shock.”

The vehicle was recovered a short while later in Mahatma Gandhi Street however, the suspects are still at large.
The portion of King Shaka Street between the monument and the traffic lights was cordoned off for most of the afternoon while police continued with their investigation.

When contacted for comment on Thursday, KZN SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed the death of the woman, but said police could not provide further detail “as the members are still busy at the scene”.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information regarding the incident are urged to contact the KwaDukuza SAPS on 032 551 8200.
