REGIONAL traders and business owners from iLembe District Municipality who attended the Municipal Roadshow hosted by the district in partnership with Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) had a rare opportunity to learn how they help create and sustain their business and employment for the people of KZN.

The iLembe roadshow was held at the eBandla Hotel in Ballito recently.
Now in its seventh succession, the municipal road shows sought to unlock the investment opportunities across the province.

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal is a government entity specialising in investment and trade promotions, export promotions and development, leverage existing infrastructure (physical and natural) and industrial economic hub.

The objective of this particular roadshow is to promote ILembe as an investment and trade destination and strengthen relationships and flow of communication between TIKZN as the provincial investment promotion agency, ILembe District Municipality and the regional investment promotion agency- Enterprise iLembe.

Enterprise iLembe Chief Financial Officer Thami Mkhwanazi, welcomed those attending the roadshow highlighting what hosting this roadshow means for the District alluding to the fact that business is for everyone, not just the financially stable or with capital.

“It is about having a clear business proposal and plan and being able to sell your ideas and then your product or service,” said Mkhwanazi.

The main objectives of this gathering was to facilitate municipal or private project, enhancing economy of municipalities, make a province a destination of investors, assist municipalities to network with international market and assist municipalities to invest.

Trade & Investment KZN Board Deputy Chairperson Ms Zee Cele said her entity that support all institutions.

“Municipalities are very important to us for the reason that they are in the driver’s seat in driving the local economy,” she said.

The roadshow ended with fashion designer and M-Shade managing director speaking about his experience in doing business in iLembe.
