THE Department of Education in the iLembe District, led by Musa Madondo, officially launched the 2018 school governing body elections at the Tongaat town hall on February 21.

In his address, Madondo said that all the parents from the iLembe District have the right to participate in the elections in order to participate fully in the 2018 school governing body elections.

The elections will be held from March 1 to March 31.

“When electing, parents must make sure that they elect individuals who have the best interests of education at heart, not self-serving individuals. They must be people of high integrity, good ideals, attributes and values,” he said.

He added that after the elections have been completed, newly elected school governing bodies will be trained in their roles and responsibilities. — Supplied.
