KDVA to launch an U13 schools’ volleyball league

KWADUKUZA Volleyball Association (KDVA) will launch an U13 primary schools’ volleyball league commencing on Wednesday, February 28.

The U13 league will cater for boys and girls. Matches will be played in two pools on a league basis, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the semi-finals. Players born in 1995 or 1996 will be eligible to participate in the league.

Participation in the tournament is free of charge and trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners-up.

All matches will be played on Wednesdays at 1 pm at Dawnview, Ashram, KwaDukuza Primary and Manor Primary schools.

All matches will be contested on the basis of best of three sets (the first two sets comprising 25 points with the third and decisive set comprising 15 uncapped points).

A meeting of all schools interested in participating in the league are requested to attend a planning meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at Manor Primary at 1 pm.

In other volleyball news, KDVA will host their annual general meeting on February 22 at the Quartz Conference Centre at 7 pm. All clubs must be represented by three delegates.

The draws for the 2018 showpiece of the Top 8 Tournament will take place immediately after the meeting, with the tournament scheduled to get under way on March 7. The Easter Knockout Cup will get under way on March 21.
