KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu convened a special stakeholder appreciation event last Thursday, at the KwaDukuza Town Hall, where he commended role-players in law enforcement and emergency services for their enduring dedication and commitment to the public, especially over the festive season. “We pay tribute to the men and women who work under difficult conditions to ensure that there is stability in our communities. These officials make life-threatening sacrifices, which go unseen to the world. Therefore, as Council, we do feel the sense of indebtedness to these agencies for their sacrifices and dedication to peace and stability. Unity and cooperation will always rest at the centre of our strength if we are to win the fight against crime”, Mthembu said. Mthembu expressed the necessity for peace and stability in order to attract more investors to participate in the local economy. “KwaDukuza is an area of investment, it cannot become a breeding ground for violent crimes and no one would want to invest in an economy that is owned by criminals," he said.
