MANOR Cricket Club notched up a quick double victory in the Ilembe Cricket Union T20 league this past Saturday at the Gledhow Grounds.
It was Manor Cricket Club’s first two matches in the T20 league.

The Manor outfit was keen to make an impression on the league with their new sponsored kit from Isuzu Gemini.

In their first fixture Manor A played Maphumulo, Manor A won the toss and elected to batt put on a massive 214 runs for the loss of two wickets in their allotted 20 overs with Adesh Bageloo scoring a brilliant 101 not out and Cameron Pillay 73, they were the chief contributors.

In reply Maphumulo was bundled out for 52 in 13 overs.

In the feature match, the much anticipated Oceanville vs Manor A which drew lots of interest from other clubs and a large gathering of spectators was indeed an exciting one. Oceanville won the toss and opted to bat keeping Manor on the field.

Oceanville put on a massive 145 in their allotted 20 overs with Sashin scoring 53 he was well supported by Rajiv Ramsing 23, Keshav Basedo 21 and Jurano Govinder 26. Comfort Shange was the pick of the Manor bowling attack with figures of 3 wickets for 15 runs off 3 overs. Chasing 146 for victory was a test for a youthful Manor team who went about their task with an explosive 50 run opening partnership between Cameron Pillay 30 and Ali Sher 25.

With the loss of Ali Sher centurion Adesh Bageloo continued with his run-fest smashing the Oceanville bowling attack to all parts of the ground scoring a quick fire 50 which included 6 fours.

Manor continued to keep the runs ticking and was able to canter past the score in the 19th over for the loss of 4 wickets.
