WELL known community stalwart Fokko Fokkens, passed away on Monday, November 13 after a short fight with cancer. He was 87 years old.

He was a leading conservationist, humanitarian and activist in protecting nature, who served Ezemvelo Wildlife as an honorary officer for the last 31 years.
He served the east coast in conservation efforts for over 60 years concentrating on water management and educating students and the general public on the impact of nature conservation and coastal care.
He was a stalwart and courageous passionate leader, who will be sadly missed. Please honour him and join his memorial service on Thursday, November 16 at the KwaDukuza Town Hall commencing at 2pm.
