New Guelderland Combined School gets new library

2017-03-22 06:02

?Ukuphakamisa, sponsored by Dolphin Coast Landfill Management  (DCLM), has opened a new library for the New Guelderland Combined School in Stewarts.
New library books were bought, a classroom was renovated and shelves were built.
Trustee of Ukuphakamisa Aresh Singh said it is a blessing to have a company that is so generous with upliftment programmes in our disadvantaged area of New Guelderland.
This is one of many other upliftment programmes Ukuphakamisa and DCLM are involved in.
According to Singh the school has been sidelined by the Department of Education in many ways.
“There has been no power in the school for over a year due to cable theft. The school has also not been put on the sanitary pad roll-out from the department.
“Ukuphakamisa and DCLM are currently supplying the school with sanitary pads for the little ladies of the school until the department does recognise them.”
Principal Mavis Mpanza expressed her gratitude to Singh and DCLM CEO Olivier Meyer for making ensuring the youth are taught the importance of education and reading.
