Nine Pillay wins Dhodhoi's Singles Tournament

THE Dhodho'is Fast Food singles tournament was a real humdinger played at Quarts Sports Bar in Stanger Manor.

Top half of the draw, Pravesh Ramdyal­ beat Keven Pillay 2-0 to advance in the quarters while Charlie Pillay­ beat Preston Nadasen to meet Pravesh.

Charlie beat Pravesh 2-0 and advance into the semis. Preolin Mutusamy beat Ajen Singh 2-0 while Nine Pillay­ was in top form lashing out Meersingh Soobram 2-0 to meet Preolin in the quarters.

Nine’s form did not end there, he beat Preolin 2-0 to meet Charlie in the semi's. Nine won the first set to lead and scored high tallies to leave Charlie behind, but struggled to close on the double and Charlie made his way up and won the second set to level the scores.
However, Nine started throwing class darts and left Charlie Pillay flat footed to close the game and go into the finals with 2-1 victory.

The bottom half of the draws saw Jodie Naidoo beat Jason Moodley 2-1 and advance to the quarters.
Yogan beat Kyle Pillay 2-0 and had a game on with Jodie with Yogan beating Jodie 2-0 and advancing to the semi's. Paddy Padayachee beat Sashen­ Naidoo 2-0 to meet Jerry Govender­ in the quarters.

Govender won the first set and struggled to close on a double.

Padayachee took full advantage and capitalised top scoring to land quick on the double 20 winning the game 2-1 to meet Nine in the final.
The final was entertaining as Nine and KZN stalwart Paddy Padayachee locked horns.
Nine continued the top form and out played Padayachee to win the the first set.

Padayachee was struggling to keep up with Nine's scores and was blown out of the title race.
Nine beat Paddy Padayachee 2-0 to claim the Dhodhoi’s single title.
Today, 1 June sees the Trophies Engravers League kick off.

The game will be played on singles- based league 36 points system.
