Padayachee wins singles

PADDY Padayachee was the winner of the Jaya's Recycling singles tournament last week.
At the top half of the draw, Ajen Singh beat Kyle Pillay 2-0 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Paddy Padayachee beat Yogan Pillay 2-0 to meet Ajen in the quarters.
Padaychee beat Singh 2-0 and moved to the semi-finals.

Vasa Rungasamy's hot run continued as winner of last week KDDA singles, defeating Jerry Govender 2-0 to book himself into the semi's meeting Padayachee. Rungasamy wasted no time and beat Padayachee in the first set, however Padayachee kept his cool and levelled the scores 1-1.

Padayachee proved too strong and disposed of Vasa moving to the finals.
In the bottom half of the draw, Neeran Somnath beat Jodie Naidoo 2-1 and moved to the quarter-finals.

Logan Moonsamy beat Ashley Haripersadh 2-1 to meet Somnath in the quarters however, Somnath defeated Moonsamy 2-1.
Darrel Shanmagum beat Jerry Arunachellum 2-0 and advanced to the quarter-finals while Charlie Pillay beat Nine Pillay 2-0 to meet Shanmagum in the quarters.

Darrel was in top form and beat Pillay 2-1 to meet Somnath in the semi-finals.

The semi-finals between Shanmagum and Somnath was entertaining as both players produced top scores and the game was levelled 1-1, however Shanmagum snatched the 3rd set and advanced into the finals to meet Padayachee.

The finals was well contested as Shanmagum drew first blood winning the first set.

Padayachee kept his tempo and levelled the scores in the second set.

In the final set Padayachee proved to strong and left Shanmagum reeling as he top scored with 180 (tripple 60) and closed the game to lift the singles title.
