MEGA Pirates beat Groutville Football Club 2 – 0 in their KwaDukuza Local Football Premier League stream 1 game on Saturday last week.

The first half was a fairly balanced contest between the two teams, with both sides attacking and taking shots at goal.

However, a resolute Pirates side dominated the second half, scoring two goals to cruise to a comfortable 2 – 0 victory.

The first goal was scored by Sbonelo Mpungose towards the final whistle and five minutes later man of the match Spha Mbonambi added the final nail in the coffin to secure a win for Pirates.

Pirates’ manager Micheal Mthembu said: “The game was alright, the first half was not at all that exciting but in the second half our boys played much better and won us the game.”

He said he was disappointed by the fact that the referee officiated over the game without any assistance.

Groutville’s coach declined to comment on the game, saying he was unhappy with the way the referee presided over the encounter.

Groutville were awarded three yellow cards after their opponents had scored the first goal.
