“Today, cadres you have proved me wrong. We are all here in our numbers and we are working together in unity. We have proven our critics wrong. Thuma Mina has become a big campaign in the whole country and today I can be proud to say we are ANC volunteers,” Ramaphosa said.

The president’s visit comes in the wake of a controversial Imbizo, which was called by Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini last Wednesday, to talk about the Ingonyama Trust, which is under the king’s control.

There have been some exchanges between the monarchy and the ANC, which subsequently prompted the president to meet with the king to assure him that his government won’t interfere with the Ingonyama Trust land.

“If we want to renew our branches, this campaign is designed just for that. That is why I want to thank KZN, as they are ahead of schedule in preparation for the 2019 elections. I am lost for words in thanking the Provincial Task Team on their great work. In-fighting and divisions within the ANC must come to an end,” added Ramaphosa.
The president and his delegation then proceeded to Verulam to visit the families of those who were victims of the mosque attack recently.
