Renaming Stanger Hospital

2017-11-08 06:00

REGARDING the name change of Stanger Hospital to General Justice Maqina Mpanza Hospital, it is a waste of money that could be of better use.

I am not against the name or object to the name. My question is why give Justice Mpanza triple recognition? He already has a street and municipal building named after him.

Stanger Hospital is a name from time immemorial, a name that is on everyone’s lips. Why change it and waste money that could be better used for service delivery backlogs or increase the salary of our hardworking nurses and support staff of Stanger Hospital. If we have to change the name of Stanger Hospital then lets change it to a neutral name.

I suggest, iLembe District Hospital KwaDukuza or King Shaka Hospital KwaDukuza, the king of the Zulu nation and this is the town of the Zulu nation with a rich history of King Shaka.

But not Donald Trump, Grace Mugabe or the Guptas!

What’s in a name?

Stanger Heights
