AN aspiring KwaDukuza gospel artist is set to take the music industry by storm as he promises to mesmerise gospel lovers with his soothing sounds.

Sphelele Miya who hails from Shakaville has dedicated himself to his craft from the tender age of 12 when he fell in love with gospel music and never looked backed.

The recording artist has previously released an EP but it wasn’t very well received but he is now working at releasing a new one under new management at Charlie Communications.

Speaking to the Weekly Miya said he attributes all his success to the support that his family and friends have given him.

“As for people, to be honest I wouldn’t have done some of the things I have done without their support. As we all know, everyone needs some sort of backbone to conquer battles. At first my family did not believe that I would make it this far.

“They flat out disagreed with my vision but because I was persistent all the way they eventually came to my support. Also the friends I keep have been a great motivation from day one, they believed in my vision before I even believed it. They showed me support in an incredible way,” Said Miya.

The talented musician has share the stage with various artists who are performing under renowned South African gospel group Joyous Celebration and is the founding member of the popular KwaDukuza group Boys with Voices.

“My future ambitions in the industry include owning my own recording label and helping other local aspiring artists realise their dreams as I believe music has the power to bring people together,” he added.
