FLIPSIDE Cricket Club kicked off their Ilembe 50 over season with an impressive start by securing victory over Pak International on Sunday.

In the encounter between Pak and Flipside on what seemed to be a damp pitch, Pak won the toss and without hesitation put Flipside in to bat.

Wickets fell at regular intervals from one end but opener S. Veerarajoo held his nerve for a hard fought 45, which included two fours, before being dismissed in the 22nd over.

P. Naidoo was the only other batsman to reach double digits, scoring 16, which included the only six of the game and a four.

Flipside bundled out for what seemed to be a very low total of just 123 from 33 overs. Pak went in to bat with the taste of victory in their mouths and got off to a flying start, scoring 36 from the first three overs but, with the fall of the first wicket by N. Pancham, Flipside smelled blood and went for the kill, putting on a brilliant performance and bowling out Pak in the 17th over for just 56.

Brilliant bowling performance from S. Pillay, who claimed four for nine, and supported by P. Dhaver with three for 13. Flipside got off to the best possible start to the 2018/19 season.
