Strini Motors Team League heats up

THE KwaDukuza Darts Association kicked off with the Strini Motors Team League last Wednesday at the Quartz Sportsbar.

KZN Red Gold Darts Club went up against the high-riding Darnall United while Dhan’s Auto took on Quartz Darts Club.

In the first team game, between Darnall United and Red Gold, Darnall won the first three team games (1001) to lead 3-0.

In the doubles (701), Darnall United once again beat Red Gold 2-0 to lead 5-0.

The Darnall team of Vinesh Geanbally, Jerry Govender, Nine Pillay and Jerry Arunachellum continued their winning streak.

There were four singles games to go (501) and Red Gold had to put up a strong fight to gain some pride.

Bradley Naidoo and Sashen Moodley put up a strong fight to gain victory over Geanbally and Jerry Govender to give Red Gold a two-point deficit.

Nine Pillay and Jerry Arunachellum wrapped up the night by beating Keven Gounden and Ashton Muthoosamy to give the Darnall lads a 7-2 victory.

In the other game, Dhan’s Auto started their team games on a high note to win 3-0.

In the doubles, Quartz Darts Club’s Rowen Pillay and Leon Moonsamy lost to Justin Naidoo and Vasa Rungasamy to take the scores to 4-0 in favour of Dhan’s Auto.

The second game saw Tridev Singh and Julian Munisamy beat Jodie Naidoo and Naven Coopsamy to give Quartz a point to save some pride.

With four singles to go, Dhan’s Auto boys Justin Naidoo, Rungasamy and Jodie Naidoo beat Rowen Pillay, Moonsamy and Singh taking Dhan’s Auto to a 7-1 lead.

The final game saw Munisamy beat Coopsamy to take the scores to 7-2 in favour of Dhan’s Auto.

Coopsamy notched up a (180).

Tonight sees Darnall United vs Quartz and Singh’s Fireworks take on Red Gold. Dhan’s will be club on duty. -Supplied
