“The culprit was remanded in custody by the Nyoni court,” he said.

He said one person was arrested for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm at the weekend and the said culprit appeared in the Nyoni Magistrate’s Court.

Mthethwa said another 48 people were arrested for purchasing and drinking a prohibited alcoholic concoction commonly known as Isihimeyane. The said culprits each paid a fine of R50.
