WORLD Aids Day is commemorated each year on December 1 and is an opportunity for every community to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have died.

Nations Builders partnered with the Ballito Clinic to reach out to the community by hosting talks for World Aids Day and the 16 Days of Activism for Abuse Against Women and Children.

Dr Nivasha Naidoo, a volunteer at Nation Builders, delivered an informative talk about managing HIV through a healthy lifestyle and maintaining chronic medication. She advised all patients at the clinic to take preventative measures in an effort to avoid the spread HIV. She also encouraged those present to offer assistance to those living with HIV/Aids in an effort to remove the stigma associated with the condition.

Loshini Mohanlal, Community Project Manager at Nation Builders, delivered an inspirational talk on “breaking the silence on domestic violence against women and children face”.

She provided practical steps for women and children to implement in an effort to get assistance and protection from perpetrators.

A non-profit organisation, Nation Builders continues their work in empowering and equipping women and children. Contact Leann Peters at 083 540 8456 or nationbuilderssa@gmail.com if you would like to partner in the various different programmes and events they host.
