TWO people were killed and another was injured in a head on collision on the N2 Tugela bridge on Sunday night.

The Jaws of Life had to be used by the KwaDukuza Fire Department to remove the couple, who died at the scene, from their mangled bakkie.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue reports the bakkie collided head on with a truck.

Due to the impact of the collision the truck was found on its side at the scene.

The remaining injured person was taken to hospital for treatment.

Exact details as to the cause of the accident are still under investigation.
