AFRICAN Wanderers are set to be promoted from the KwaDukuza Local Football Association Premier League – stream 1 to the SAB Regional league after defeating Ocean City 3 – 0 in their second to last encounter of the season this past Saturday.

The win ensured that Wanderers remain at the top spot of the local league with 62 points ahead of their season’s finale against Happy Stars this week.

Two teams – log leaders and the one that finishes at second place – will advance from the local to the regional league.

Siphila Ngwane opened the scoring account for Wanderers with a goal scored in the 20th minute of the first half of the game.

Minutes later, Sabelo Fakazi extended Wanderers’ lead to 2 – 0 with his goal in the 30th minute.

Ocean City played with determination but unfortunately failed to score any goals.

Wanderers cemented their lead with Andries Masuku’s goal in the 25th minute of the second half.

Wanderers’ chairperson Senzo Mbambo commended his side for their stellar performance and convincing victory.

“The boys played with determination and they have been focused throughout the season. I am certain that once they are promoted to the regional league they will manage to maintain that determination and focus and perform just as well,” he said.
