A LOCAL man who is living with a disability has a passion for writing children’s books and is currently promoting his first book which was recently published.

Calvin Green (31) of Rocky Park is a former uMfolozi TVET College engineering student, who had to abandon his studies due to an unfortunate incident where he was attacked and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The tittle of his first published book is Being Young and Getting Older and the book is suitable for primary school pupils.

The talented writer has highlighted that he gets his inspiration from his dreams and when he prays.

“I would like to encourage other people with disabilities and tell them they too can do whatever they wish in life. These books that I write encourages reading for primary school kids. At the moment I am busy writing another book which will come out soon,” he said.

Green has pleaded with the KwaDukuza community to support his endeavour so he can continue writing more books.

He also wants to encourage schools to use his books as teaching tools.

The book copies are currently available and can be purchased by contacting him in person, he will also be available opposite Stanger Superspar this coming weekend.
