The Uitenhage Lions Club invites the community to make donations of winter blankets and winter clothing in support of the Winter Bash Project.

Lions will set up a collection point at Penford Pick n Pay on Saturday from 09:00 to 14:00.

The Winter Bash is a project of The Ministry which involves providing the homeless and street children with a hot meal, winter blankets and clothing.

Last year children as young as six years of age and many of the elderly benefited from donations received from the community.

Should any member of the community or local business wish to make donations or have them collected, please contact either Claude on 073 399 7171 or Melissa on 081 513 4862 who will gladly assist you.

“A recipe for happiness is ‘happy are those who reach out to others rather than expect to be reached out to, as we really live when we live to give’,” said Lion President Andre van Niekerk
