Entertainment at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees will not only warm the hearts of the whole family this winter, but foodlovers will also be in for a treat.

The Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees 2015 will be taking place from Friday, June 26 until Sunday, June 28.

On the last day of the Wildsfees, there will be a line-up filled with local South African artists against the backdrop of the Rietberg Mountains and the aromas of fresh coffee, braai fires, koeksisters and the popular Langtafel banquet where “smileys” or sheep’s heads, which is a traditional delicacy, will be served. Tickets are R150 and the Langtafel banquet commences at 11:00 (Sunday) and bookings can be made by phoning 042 230 0064.

Artists making their Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees debut include Manie Jackson, Jannie Moolman, Corlea Botha and Mi Casa.

Kids will be kept entertained in a Faerie Garden and by Edu Puppets in the Kids Zone, while the family shops at over 350 specialist stalls and visits the Walk on the Wildside, agri, car, wine, food and mohair expos.

The entertainment on the giant Windhoek Stage starts at mid-day.

The 14th annual festival will be played out by everyone’s favourite band, Die Campells. Manie Jackson is no stranger to the Afrikaans music scene, making his debut “Manie Jackson” in a talent competition in Johannesburg in 1997. Jackson will be performing songs such as “Die Hemel Weet”, “The Trouble with love”, “Kom Laat My Weer Lewe” and “Onthou die Eerste Keer”.

Jannie Moolman and Corlea Botha will be singing songs from Botha’s latest album “Wie Ek Is” and songs from Moolman’s album “My Storie”.

Mi Casa has been included in the line-up at the request of the festival’s Facebook fans. They will be performing numbers from their latest album “Mi Casa Su Casa”.
