Braaivleis om boeke in te samel

’n Kaskar-resies is onlangs deur ATKV Edik-tak aangebied en seuns van Gerald Smith hulle vaardighede en toertjies tot groot vermaak van omstanders gewys.

Toeskouers het in Lukiestraat byeengekom om die resies te ondersteun wat ’n voorprogram was vir die stigting van ‘n Afrikaanse leserskring wat deur Naomi von Branden (ATKV-hoofkantoor) en Elda Kruger (ATKV-streeks verteenwoordiger) bygewoon is.

Pryse vir die kaskar-resies is geborg deur Tavcor Suzuki, Star Cabs en Peter Benn Motors.

Die mini-opening van Gerald Smith se eerste gemeenskaps-biblioteek het kinders en in- woners van die area die geleent heid gebied om ‘n voorsmakie te geniet van boeke en rekenaars wat tot hulle beskikking gaan wees. Die amptelike opening van die biblioteek sal later vanjaar gehou word.

As deel van die ATKV-tak se fondsinsamelings word braai-vleis Saterdag gebraai. Fondse sal aangewend word om vir die installering van ’n internet- konneksie en die aankoop van materiaal wat nodig is vir die biblioteek se amptelike opening.

Die braaivleis word teen R40 (+R10/aflewering in Uitenhage) aangebied.
