Ex-pupils to tackle vandalism at school

2015-04-30 15:15

Former pupils of McCarthy Comprehensive School are planning to take action and start with programmes instilling a sense of pride and dignity as the school is a target of vandalism.

According to Mornay Valtein, one of the former pupils of the school, they have decided to assist the school as, “it currently is in a bad condition as a result of being vandalised.”

A Family Day is planned for Saturday, April 18th from 12:00 onwards. Attendance is free of charge and all former pupils as well as current ones are invited to attend.

Activities of the day include jumping castles for the kids, bring and braai, music and entertainment.

The local fire brigade will be in attendance as well as representatives of the department of health.

“The whole idea is for us to build trust, before we start renovating our school back to the way it was,” said Valtein.
