It is said that play is a child’s work as it is important for their development and teach them the rules of what is expected of them and how to act in society.

A day full of play and family fun is hosted by Nezley’s Toddlers Academy on Saturday at Popsi The Clown’s farm off Verwoerd Drive in Uitenhage.

According to Nezley Booysen, owner of Nezley’s Toddlers Academy, the fun day is open for all interested to attend as there will be lots of stalls, games and rides.

At Nezley’s they believe that the early years of a child’s development are crucial in education. They accommodate children between the ages of 2 and 5 and also offer an after school care facility.

“Fostering and learning during this phase promotes a healthy intellectual growth and educational curiosity within the child,” said Nezley.

All revenue raised on Saturday will go towards refurbishing the academy with indoor educational supplies and equipment.

“It is very much needed to continue with our aims and goals for our children in the coming winter months, where they cannot be stimulated outside as a result of cold and wet weather. We would like to thank all our sponsors for helping us to make this possible,” said Nezley.

The Family Fun Day activities commence from 10:00 on Saturday. The entrance fee is R5 per person.
