Thia Fourie, graad 10 leerder van Hoërskool Kirkwood en Nolene Spinks, graad 8 leerder van Hoërskool D.F. Malherbe het die Oostelike Provinsie verteenwoordig by die pas afgelope Suid-Afrikaanse kampioenskappe vir uitvoerende kunste wat in Rustenburg aangebied is.

Thia het 10 solo’s gelewer en 9 duette saam met Nolene. Die twee meisies het tydens die medalje toekennings weggestap met ’n totaal van 23 medaljes.

Thia het met haar solo’s 3 goue medaljes, 3 silwer en 1 brons medalje gewen. In die duette afdeling het hulle weggestap met 5 goue medaljes, 2 silwer en 1 brons medalje.

Thia en Nolene is ook gekies om as deel van die Suid-Afrikaanse span aan die wêreld-kampioenskappe vir uitvoerende kunste in Los Angeles in die Verenigde State van Amerika te gaan deelneem.

Beide meisies ontvang vokale onderrig van Franz Geldenhuys op Jeffreysbaai
