Organisers are gearing-up for annual street carnival

It’s that time of the year again. Jacaranda trees are in full bloom and Rotarians from the Uitenhage Rotary Club in full swing, organising the programme for the annual Uitenhage Street Carnival.

It will be held on November 27 and 28 and there will once again be various artists performing throughout the weekend. Well over 150 stalls will be trading at the carnival.

There will be plenty to do for the kids including a playland, train rides, face painting, paintball and various other activities. Life-sized cartoon characters, as well as a magician, will roam the street.

“As usual the emphasis will be on providing a platform for local artists to perform. This will culminate in the switching on of the Christmas lights on Saturday evening,” said Rotarian Terry Ranger, one of the organisers.
