R4R help heal emotional scars

2015-08-27 06:01

Reach for Recovery (R4R) is built on a simple yet universal principle: a woman who has experienced breast cancer giving freely of her time to support another woman with breast cancer.

“We are looking for volunteers and new friends who have walked the road and have recovered from breast cancer. We would like to meet you all over a cup of tea,” said Estelle Botha, Chairperson of the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group in Uitenhage.

This cup of tea will be at the Reach for Recovery Annual General Meeting which will be held on Tuesday, September 1st at the John Street Methodist Church hall at 15:00. All interested are most welcome to attend.

The support group is all about women who have experienced the breast cancer journey, to render emotional care to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families. This service is done at no charge to the patient and is available to any woman who requests it.

“Come and see what we are about and how you can be of value to us.

“I would like to see as many breast cancer survivors supporting this meeting,” said Botha.
