All Riebeek’s 80 matrics passed

Riebeek College Girls’ High School attained a 100% matric pass rate from 80 learners.

The Class of 2017 achieved 93,75% bachelor passes and 6,25% diploma passes; with 5 learners obtaining A aggregates, 152 subject distinctions and 4 subjects where the subject average was above 70%.

Kieran Stear, principal of Riebeek College said, “I am pleased with the results of the Class of 2017.”

Prior to the examn she told the matric girls to “Work extra hard for what you desire, give all you can. You are the future and have a lot to do out there for us.”

This was taken to heart and the results are proof there-of.

The five Riebeek learners who obtained A aggregates are: Jessica Schoeman (7 distinctions), Jamie Lee Daniels (6 distinctions), Loren Campbell (6 distinctions), Heather Wilkinson (5 distinctions), Chiara Rossi Falcon (4 distinctions).

Jessica Schoeman, who achieved 7 distinctions and 95% for History said a positive attitude sets the scene for greatness.

“Past papers really do the trick. My strategy was to practise as much as possible with as many topics as possible.”

She will be studying Software Development.

Heather Wilkinson who achieved 5 distinctions said, “Matric is a year of discipline and hard work if you want to achieve the marks you are striving towards. And remember, you reap what you sow.”

Khanya Jantjies, 3 distinctions, said, “I feel absolutely privileged and grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to attend a school that upholds its values and traditions and cares so much about ensuring that each student realises her true potential.”
