THE annual John Walton Alumni Association gala evening will take place this coming Saturday evening at the Uitenhage Town Hall.

The gala evening is part of the alumni’s yearly efforts to raise much needed funds in an effort to uplift the school and to assist prospective matriculants with funds for tertiary studies.

According to Herbert de Vos, chairman of the John Walton Alumni, the association has made numerous donations to the school since its formation in 2011.

“The latest support came in the form of a R60 000 donation to the school to assist with upgrades to the school hall and to help fund a matric study camp,” said De Vos.

The John Walton Alumni Association urges all ex- pupils to get involved and join the efforts to support their Alma Mater. The gala evening starts at 18:00 and tickets are sold at R200 per person.
