Beware of online shopping

2016-03-24 06:00

The Uitenhage police urge the community to be more vigilant when doing electronic transactions.

This warning comes after police received several reports by people engaging in online transactions.

The reports relate especially to goods and services advertised on line. In most incidents perpetrators lured victims into paying huge amounts of cash through bank transfers or other payment methods for goods or services, which they never received even after payment was done.

Victims also purchase products that are advertised through the internet or social media. These items are never delivered and include anything worth buying.
