The Little Fighters Cancer Trust, is a one-of-its-kind childhood cancer organisation, supporting both the child with cancer as well as the families affected, in a holistic approach.

Childhood cancer is responsible for more child deaths than HIV/Aids, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

Apart from offering assistance to individual families, the Trust does regular hospital outreaches to the main paediatric oncology wards across the country with its “Bag of Hope” project. This project was started as many mothers sit in hospital wards for months on end as the primary care-giver of the child with cancer. In addition to mothers not being able to provide the basics for themselves, and although hospitals take care of the nutritional needs of the child with cancer’, they often have no sleepwear, toys or toiletries. Each Bag of Hope is shopped for individually. No second hand articles are used and a bag, regardless of whether it is for a mother or child, costs approximately R450. Little Fighters Cancer Trust is an active organisation, constantly launching new projects. For more information visit them on or check out their activities on Facebook.
